I have been taking the MAP supplement for over a year now, and have seen the difference it makes in my ability to train longer & harder - and especially to recover. I have run out of MAP before and definitely see the difference without it.
I'm told that I look more fit than I ever have in my life, and that's a cool thing to hear when you are 55.:-) I believe that paying attention to nutrition has made all the difference. I just finished first in my age group at the Bolder Boulder 10K this year. I knew I was running well, but running that well was a great surprise. I attribute the strength I've acquired to changing some training practices as well as a whole nutritional paradigm shift.
When I think back on how I used to eat, it was very light on protein and high in carbs, because after all, I was an endurance athlete so I assumed that was what I should be eating. I did not even know what a BCAA was or why it was important. I've also started consistent strength work, and taking MAP really supports that effort and maximizes the benefits I get from it. I've also started training with a lot more intensity, paying attention to adequate recovery time and supplementation with MAP.
MAP'S been huge for me. I believe that Master's age women athletes are in a position to improve their performances and overall health using MAP. Back when we were younger, it was fairly easy to do all the wrong things and still come away with decent race times and no injuries. However as the years pass it becomes more important to give the body the nutrition it needs, and to facilitate that all important recovery support. MAP does that for me.
