Winner at Race of Grace Triathlon (Male 50-54 Age Group Winner)

My second sprint distance race of the season was Race of Grace in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Triathlon training had been cut almost in half as work and family commitments has taken top priority. Despite the lack of time for triathlon training, I was confident all the base work done earlier in the season using MAP for intense work outs and rapid recovery would leave enough in the fitness bank for this race.

The jumping fish before the swim across the private lake was great. The bike course was new and consisted of a series of rolling hills - I'm convinced MAP proved to be the edge I needed on this leg as I was able to dig deep, power up the climbs, and then spin like crazy on the really fast downhill stretches. By the time my run started the heat was sweltering, but the always super volunteers provided cold water and sponges which helped a lot! The finish was at the top of an incline, and MAP gave me that last burst of energy to sprint strongly across the line.
