Captain Ed's Journal

Well, since my last entry, my wife and I have crisscrossed the country to visit my family in Chicago for Christmas and returned to the DC area. Upon returning to the DC area, my wife and I began an exhaustive 4 day house hunting extravaganza, which resulted in a ratified contract on a home in Alexandria , VA. After looking at close to 100 homes in the DC area, we found what we think is a winner. We will close in February and are excited to move in and 'officially' begin our life here in DC.

Workouts this month have been great. I am getting back on track after the Holiday season (took a few days off here and there), and enjoying the camaraderie here at the Old Guard.

An early highlight here at Ft. Myer (which is adjacent to Arlington National

Cemetery) was going for a run with a fellow officer in Arlington National Cemetery . The history of the cemetery and those that reside in its hallowed ground can't help but make you feel lucky just to have the opportunity to be in it.

As I have ramped up the intensity and duration of my workouts after the Holidays, MAP is always right there helping me recover. I have punished my legs the last three days, each day thinking there is no way I will be able to com plete tomorrow's workout...but sure enough, after a little warm-up, I feel great and can have another great workout.

On another note...over the Holidays, I met up again with Daryl Baker, the professional fisherman who took my father and I on a guided trip last summer. Daryl is a former professional hockey player with all of the scars and old injuries to prove it. He constantly experienced pain in his upper back and neck (probably from fishing all day). I gave him some MAP while on the trip and he immediately noticed a difference in how he felt. As my tip to Daryl after the trip, I bought him several bottles of MAP to continue to use on a day to day basis. Daryl reported that he has been taking MAP (about

5 days per week) for the past several months and feels much better. MAP has helped with his overall health and helps him recover from long days on the water catching fish (Daryl goes catching, not fishing). I was happy to hear his report.

That's all for this month. The attached photo is my father, brother and me at my youngest sister's basketball game while home at Christmas.

Take care.

MAP rocks!
