Two years ago when I had shoulder surgery I was told I probably would not bench press over 300 lbs again without experiencing severe pain. Before Master Amino Acid Pattern (MAP) I was stuck at 275 lbs max on my bench press, which always caused several days of discomfort. Now I am benching 310 lbs, and other than normal muscle pain, my shoulder feels great.

In fact, my overall recovery time on all my muscle groups has improved, and I no longer feel the need to take days off from training because of the soreness. I began using MAP after seeing your ad in Triathlete Magazine. I tore my ACL skiing and had surgery in February. I had had just two years of triathlon experience up until that point and was told that there was probably no way that I could race this year.

I began taking MAP in April and all I could do at that point was ride my bike. I rode every day and took MAP before each workout. I gained my strength very quickly and competed in a sprint distance triathlon in July. Encouraged by my results, I had the third fastest bike split out of 3,450 women, I entered three more races. I finished first in my age group in two, the ones which I sent to you, and was second female overall in the Zion, IL race sponsored by Tri-America.

I plan to continue taking MAP as it has helped me recover quickly as well as continue building my strength. I am looking forward to a great season next year!!

I was training for IMC in 2004 when I tore my ACL. I had reconstructive knee surgery in April 2004. Six months later, I was ready to start training again; this time for IMWA. I only had 3 months to get ready and started using MAP. I had heard about the product and its claims to promote healing and faster recovery. I was sceptical but willing to try anything to help speed my return to sport. My surgeon had told me there was no way I'd be ready for Ironman by November and that I wouldn't be able to even start running for 6 months. I started using MAP about 5 months into my rehab; around the same time I started a gentle walk/run program. Six weeks later, I was running for an hour and both swimming and cycling were part of my rehab. Six and a half months later, at the final appointment with my surgeon, he shook my hand and congratulated me. He told me he had never had a patient recover as quickly from that kind of surgery. I started MAP due to varicose veins. My legs ached and were very warm to the touch. After 3 days on BioBuile my veins were no longer warm and the aching was gone. Last year, I was an orthopedist's dream patient. I had sciatica, plantar fascitis, tendonitis, and ITB syndrome. Despite stretching, lifting, and trying to "build into" an Ironman training program, I still was nagged by these injuries. I did my homework and tried all of the expert advice, but nothing seemed to work.

Last October, I raced at the World Championships with significant anti-inflammatories and still had to grit and bear it. After Kona, I read about MAP and figured that since I tried everything else, why not one more?

Through the winter, I reestablished my base and started training with MAP. I gradually increased my dosage to the recommended levels.

I'm happy to say that I'm well into the season and racing injury free! This spring I won the US Half Marathon and medalled at both St. Anthony's and the Florida Half Ironman. More importantly, I'm enjoying training and racing for the first time in 2 years. — S.K. 40-44 Age Group

I am not an athlete. I am a mom with two children. One is only a month old. I first took MAP at the advice of my doctor to help me with healing after my recent delivery and so that I did not get depleted from nursing my baby.

When I first started to take MAP, I got loose bowels. I found, though, that if I took it without any sugar I did not have any symptoms. I can now take 3 tablets three times a day.

Some great things have happened since I started to take the MAP.

My baby doesn't eat as much and can go longer periods without feeding so often, usually about 4 hours instead of 1.5 hours.

Also, for the past several years I have only been getting about 3-5 hours of sleep a night, usually waking feeling rested.  I have noticed since I started that I need more sleep and I can sleep longer.  I think my overstressed adrenals are finally getting some repair time, not to mention the rest of my body. — A.C.
