Wow! This Stuff Works! I am a 56 year old age group athlete, a USAT coach and a USA cycling coach, as well as a working parent. My time for training is limited and I have to make each training session count. This means that for me, nutrition and recover is a key element to a successful racing and training year. MAP has been a key ingredient for me for the last few years.
Like most people, I was searching for a product that would help me recover faster, in order to be able to train hard during my next session. I saw an article on MAP and decided to try it. I went on automatic monthly re-order and just started taking it. It really wasn't until recently that I started listening – really listening to other people moan and com plain about their recovery from hard or long workouts. People much younger than me would be talking about how sore they were after a long run, or after a hard bike ride, and that it would take them several days to recover. Since most of us triathletes are “type A” personalities, I initially thought they must be training a lot harder than I was. Then it dawned on me – I was training just as hard, in fact in many cases I was training harder or longer, I was just recovering MUCH faster – due the MAP.
I also recently had the opportunity to meet Dr Minkoff at Ironman Arizona and learn from him firsthand the best way to take MAP for my training.
I credit MAP for allowing me to continue training at the level which I do. Working a full time job and training for an Ironman is sometimes daunting. Last year I competed in Ironman Florida and was 3rd in my age group. The 1st 3 places all shattered the age group course record that had been in place since 1992. Two weeks later I competed in back to back Ironmans also finishing 3 rd at Ironman Arizona, after spending 22 minutes in the med tent with hypothermia after the 63degree water swim. The next day I was walking around without any major soreness. Once again, I give MAP the credit for my ability to complete and recover at this level.
I recommend it to my athletes.
