Captain Ed's Journal
As I continue to train with MAP, the results only get more and more positive as I move along towards the fitness level I had prior to my deployment to Iraq and being wounded.
On August 4 th , I ran the fastest 10k time I have run in over 2 years in 42 minutes flat. While that is not overly quick, consider that I weigh 210 pounds, with probably only 8-9% body fat at this point. That will continue to drop in the coming months as my training intensifies.
On August 24 th and 25 th , I did something that even a year ago, I didn't think I would be able to accomplish. On Friday, 24 August, I completed a 12 mile foot march/run for US Army Air Assault School in 2 hours and 6 minutes (a 10:30 pace for 12 miles with 45 lbs. of gear on, as well as full uniform, and boots). On Saturday, 25 August, I completed a 16 mile trail race with over 2100 feet of climbing in 2 hours and 37 minutes. While my pace was by no means quick, the fact that I was able to do this race and feel solid for it for over 2/3 of the race was incredible. Consider also that I finished the last 5 plus miles of that race at around a 7:15-7:30 minute/mile pace.
I am not an elite athlete, but I am also not a chump when it comes to fitness so while I understand that elite guys put together back to back hard workouts quite often, for me to able to do this was awesome.
There is one reason I was able to do it: MAP. While there was some residual tightness in my hamstrings and a bit of muscle fatigue from the 12 miler, overall my body felt great the next morning as I prepared for the trail race.
I did an interval workout this morning after a couple of days of rest, and feel great.
While some people may be able to gut performances like this out or go back to back on hard workouts, I believe they do so, often times, at the risk of damaging their body or breaking down muscle during that second race/workout/etc.
MAP does not allow you to do that. Couple it with the BodyHealth Complete+Detox multi-vitamin and your training regimen will see tremendous benefits.
Take care.

Dave Scott - Six time Ironman World Champion and the First Inductee into the Ironman Hall of Fame
“I've tried a lot of products in my career and few deliver what they promise. MAP delivers!
Within 24 hours of doing a hard workout, on MAP, my body recovers from what I have done and is ready for the next training day. This is invaluable for any athlete of any age.
MAP allows the body not only to heal, but to gain from each workout done. I feel it. I love it. I recommend it.” - Dave Scott
