Winner at Loggerhead Triathlon (age group 55-59)
Adhering to the philosophy of "Race your strength, train your weakness," my race strategy is to:
- Swim at a controlled pace (not my strength nor weakness)
- Bike as hard as I can (my strength)
- Try to hang onto some of the advantage I got on the bike during the run (my weakness).
By taking MAP prior to my races, I find that I'm much stronger on the run even after a very hard bike. I don't fade as I have in the past, and therefore I have had a very successful season.
I also take MAP prior to hard training sessions and find that my recovery is much faster. The next day, I'm reading for another strong workout. For an older triathlete, this is truly a gift.
