Greetings,

Many MAP users know that MAP helps their body recover rapidly from workouts and injuries, but did you know that MAP can help boost your energy levels too? Many executives, office workers, and super moms take MAP because it gives them added energy to zip through the day.

  • "I have gotten more energy from using MAP..."

"I have been taking MAP for one month now, and I've gotten more energy from using MAP than I've ever had before. I also had pain in my legs and now I don't feel the pain as much as I did before taking the MAP tablets. I work in an office all day and find MAP really helps me get through the day. Thanks!"

The Importance of Taking MAP After an Event

I've come to appreciate the significance of taking MAP within 20 minutes of finishing an event. It really works best as you recommended. I made the mistake of waiting 4 hours and it really didn't have the complete effect on my recovery. So I keep my bottles in my bag at the transition with some Gatorade and drink it as soon as I am done.

I've had a great season, thanks to all the right things and MAP. Recently I did a Half Ironman Triathlon at Lake Anna in Virginia. We won the COED division. I was the running leg of the event and kept my splits pretty close. I really had to push myself in the end but I felt good, real good in the end. We won by 2 minutes. I am working on getting my teammates on MAP before next year. Thanks again for an incentive to work hard.

What Quality of Protein Are You Consuming?

There is much debate among athletes and nutritionists about how to optimize protein nutrition. When proteins (or amino acids) are eaten, the body can utilize them to make new body proteins, or it can use such proteins for energy. When we speak of the quality of a protein, we are talking about how close that protein is in amino acid composition to an ideal protein.

What is the ideal protein? It is the protein that would be completely used by the body for protein structure and not for calories for fuel. The term NNU reflects the Net Nitrogen Utilization that ends up as protein in the body. This is the actual protein made into body structure and not used for...

    Sleep Deprivation

Did you know that sleep deprivation impairs healing? Remember that during hard training, getting enough sleep is very important. Most of us have our plates full and may skimp on Z time. Not a good idea.

Every person needs a different amount of sleep, but you should wake up refreshed and feel rested. Probably that is in the neighborhood of 7-11 hours per night. A nap too is a great idea. Plan for it!

FAQ: Does MAP Contain Any Illegal Substances?

Perhaps you saw the allegations against Olympic Gold Medallist Tyler Hamilton about using illegal substances. With all the craziness going on, athletes are bound to be very questioning about what is in their products. Are illegal drugs hidden in anything that I am taking?

MAP is pure pharmaceutical grade (highest purity) amino acids and NOTHING ELSE. There are no drugs of any kind in MAP.

Drugs never build up the body or improve health in the long term. Often many drugs, including such common ones as Advil and Tylenol, while reducing pain, actually damage the cartilage, kidney, liver, and intestines with frequent use.

Why Add Magnesium and Vitamin B to Your Diet?

The human body is the most complex machine ever assembled. It does require relatively few substances to function optimally. The more intense the activity, the more it requires replacement of vitamins, minerals, essential fats, and amino acids.

When MAP is used as protein therapy, there are a couple of other elements needed for the body to use it optimally. I want to mention these so that you can make sure your bases are covered.

    Magnesium
The first is magnesium. Over two hundred body enzyme reactions require magnesium to occur properly. These enzyme reactions are absolutely essential for all cells in the body. Remember, the average American diet only provides 40% of the magnesium a person needs in a day. So it is estimated that 80% of people walking around are actually magnesium deficient already.

Lack of magnesium can lead to everything from high blood pressure to constipation, headaches, high cholesterol, heart attacks, muscle spasm, and fatigue. Not only that, but magnesium is also the mineral lost in the greatest amounts in the sweat. Calcium and zinc are the next most lost minerals.

You must increase your magnesium intake to perform at your best. Personally, I take a nightly cocktail of a Magnesium Calcium mixture made by Nutrina, called CALMAC. It is a 1:1 ratio of calcium and magnesium and Vitamin C.

I take a heaping tablespoon as a nightcap, and that gives me about 600 mg of each mineral and 500 mg of Vitamin C. It's relaxing and keeps...
