around the corner and we will be there to watch the

Can the aging process be cheated? Yes. One of
the
most important things that happens in aging is loss of
muscle and lean body tissue. This loss can be seen
when one compares the percentage of lean tissue in
twenty year olds versus seventy year olds. The loss
can be as much as 70%. The reasons are both from
lack of use and from poor nutrition. We know that
healthy older individuals can make muscle as well as
when they were young. So what is missing?
Lack of sufficient quality protein in the diet. With
not enough quality protein the body gradually over
time breaks down its own proteins and does not
replace them. Can this be reversed? Yes. What is
required is the highest quality protein. This is
MAP. If you’d like to recapture some of the

| 3 Key Marathon Workouts for Runners and Triathletes |

Triathletes and runners obviously train very
differently, but they both follow basic training
principles and can benefit from running a few similar
marathon specific workouts. The main difference is
that the runners are usually rested and fresh as a
daisy for these long runs, and the triathletes are still
exhausted from there 5 hour ride the day before!
Athletes need to make individualized modifications.
Try a few of these marathon specific workouts
before your next Ironman or marathon and obviously
before you begin your taper. They will prepare you
mentally and physically for the demands of the
marathon.
