| New Study Shows Vitamin E Protects Ultradistance Athletes |
 |
What vitamin should you be sure you're taking?
Ultramarathoners taking Vitamin E did not have the
predicted increase in lipid oxidation (which damages
cells and causes long term cardiovascular problems)
that results from extreme exercise.

| "Before MAP I was stuck at 275 lbs max on my bench press ..." |
 |
"Two years ago when I had shoulder surgery I
was told I probably would not bench press over 300
lbs again without experiencing severe pain, which
always caused several days of discomfort. Now I am
benching 310 lbs, and other than normal muscle pain,
my shoulder feels great.

| "I started MAP due to varicose veins ..." |
 |
"I started MAP due to varicose veins. My
legs ached and were very warm to the touch. After 3
days on MAP my veins were no longer warm and
the aching was gone. This really puts a hold on the
surgery they wanted to do. I have never had so
much relief in my legs as I do with MAP. An
added bonus was energy that I didn't have before.
Thank you."

| Athletic Performance and Total Body Toxic Load |
 |
Athletes put high demands on their bodies to go
faster, jump higher, and lift more. Two very
important factors must be considered so that their
genetic endowment can be maximized: (1) Nutrition
is the most important factor. Adequate nutrients
must be available to build tissues and organs as well
as to provide fuel for energy; (2) Toxic influences in
the environment must also be constantly removed ...

The Eight-Week Winter Marathon, or Early Season Triathlon Training |
|
|
|
By Kevin Moats
Kevin Moats, one of the best age group
athletes in the world, recently joined the MAP
team. Kevin has completed over 35 Ironman races
and competed in Kona nearly every year from 1987
to 2004. See his racing resume for
details. In this article, Kevin shares his strategy for
winter training.
There are two schools of thought regarding Ironman
training in the off season -- either focus on your
weakest sport(s), or get back to your roots and
rebuild your strongest sport.
My preference is for the latter since, after a regime
of training for all three sports, our strongest
sport has a tendency to get a little ragged by the
end of season. There will still be plenty of time in
March to work on the other two sports
before a late summer Ironman.
Running is perhaps the most honest of the three
sports. There is nowhere to hide. You cannot mask
your true condition due to improved technique or
new equipment.
