Greetings,
Welcome to The BodyHealth Newsletter.
We have been getting terrific letters from users,
wondering how it is that they can beat themselves up
all weekend with a long bike ride, a long run and on
Monday, feel like they didn't do anything. Well get used
to it. I have been having the same experience nearly
every weekend for close to a year. - David I. Minkoff,

MAP played an important role in the U.S.
Postal Team's victory at the Tour de France.
We used it to accelerate muscle rebuilding and repair
after each day's race and to maintain
maximum lean muscle mass for the 22 days. It worked
perfectly."

| The Perfect Amino Acid Design for Human Health |

There is much debate among athletes and
nutritionists about how to optimize protein nutrition.
When proteins (or amino acids) are eaten, the body
can utilize them to make new body proteins, or it can
use such proteins for energy. When we speak of the
quality of a protein, we are talking about how close
that protein is in amino acid composition to an ideal
protein. What is the ideal protein? It is that protein
that would be completely used by the body for protein
structure and not for calories for fuel. The term NNU
reflects the Net Nitrogen Utilization that ends up as
protein in the body. This is the actual protein made into
body structure and not for energy needs.

The Decreasing-Resistance Technique
This
technique can be implemented alone or in
combination with the Movement-Segmentation
Technique. The purpose of this technique is to vary
the degree of weight resistance for a specific muscle
group, beginning with the Maximum Resistance* and
progressively decreasing to the minimum resistance.
This technique can be used for any muscle-group
exercise. *Maximum Resistance (MR) is the maximum
weight that can be actively moved as a result of a
muscle contraction (pull) or extension (push). Proceed
as follows:
1. Warm up the muscle group you are going to work out
for about 15 minutes; use only 25% of that specific
muscle group's Maximum Resistance (e.g. weight).
2. Start working out by using the muscle group's
Maximum Resistance, with a smooth, slow and
controlled movement. Then return to the starting
position. If you indeed use the Maximum Resistance,
you should be able to perform no more than two
repetitions.
3. After resting 2 minutes at most, decrease the
resistance by 10% and perform as many repetitions as
possible.
4. Repeat number 3 for as long as the exercise requires
muscle effort.

Question : Why wouldn't I take bananas as a
carbohydrate with my MAP?
Answer: Bananas would not be taken if one were using
MAP as part of a Weight Loss Diet. This is because
bananas are a high glycemic fruit, and to lose weight
its better to be on low glycemic foods.
For athletes who are not concerned with weight
control, it is fine to take bananas as a carbohydrate
before or after the workout.
Question: I split my workouts up throughout the day.
How often do I take MAP?
Answer: You would take your first dose 20-30 minutes
before your first work out and the second dose
immediately after you last workout.

With the craziness that is going on in Major League
Baseball, where the record breakers have been
taking "vitamins" laced with anabolic steroid drugs,
athletes are bound to be very questioning about what
is in their products? Are illegal drugs hidden in anything
that I am taking?
MAP is pure pharmaceutical grade (highest purity)
amino acids and NOTHING ELSE.
Of course, drugs never build up the body or improve
health for the long term. Often many of them, including
such common remedies as Advil and Tylenol, while
reducing pain, actually damage the cartilage, kidney,
liver and intestines with frequent use.
The human body is the most complex machine ever
assembled. It does require relatively few substances to
function optimally. The more intense the activity, the
more it requires replacement of
vitamins, minerals, essential fats, and amino acids.
When MAP is used as protein therapy, there are a
couple of other elements needed for the body to use it
optimally. I wanted to mention these so that you can
make sure your bases are covered.
First is Magnesium. Over two hundred body enzyme
reactions require Magnesium to occur properly. These
enzyme reactions are absolutely essential for all cells in
the body. Remember, the average American diet only
provides 40% of the Magnesium a person needs in a
day.
