Dear Dave, I have been taking BioBuilde. I am 63
yrs. old. Three weeks ago
while exercising on my bicycle I hit a patch of black
ice here in
Northern Ca. and
fell causing a fracture to the Trochanter bone just
below the hip.
It has
been pinned and I am in recovery. Any suggestions
on ways to expedite
the healing process?
The Muscles and bone are still in low grade
pain. I am getting weekly P.T.
Thanks for any help.
Conrad
Dear Conrad,
Bone healing is a complex question, however there
are several components that will enhance bone
integrity. I am assuming that your physical therapist is
doing a strengthening program that not only enhances
the musculature around the joint but equally important
is to
regain the strength in your hip, glutes and
quadriceps. This should
be a combination of

I just started taking BioBuilde in July to help with
recovery. I noticed a shift in my food cravings, a lot
less protein cravings, but more importantly a bit more
energy from workout to workout. This is key, since my
job is very demanding coupled with a tough training
schedule.
When I use BioBuilde on a regular basis my legs are
more responsive and less sluggish.
I appreciate being able to attack each workout as it
was intended. Mandi Kowal

Training and racing for long course triathlon is a
huge stress on the body. One of the hardest aspects
of training and racing is balancing the intensity and
recovery of workouts to reach peak fitness, too much
or too little of either and your performance suffers.
BioBuilde is an important component of my training
and recovery that helps to obtain the necessary
nutrients that allow me to place my body under hard
and consistent training stress to achieve the most for
each workout." -Alex Mroszczyk-McDonald

| How to Be a Triathlete and Still be Healthy |
 |
Many of us have taken up the Triathlete lifestyle
because it enhances our health. The body
thrives on the training and being in the elements, and
overcoming them.
That said, there are several downsides that must be
taken into account and dealt with to keep health
improving and prevent illness and injury.

Reinvent your Swim Stroke |
|
|
|
by Alex Mroszczyk-McDonald Often triathletes who
do not have a swimming background fall into 2
categories. They either swim huge number of yards
attempting to gain peak swim fitness, or they seem to
place swimming on the back burner and focus on
biking and running. One of my training buddies often
does not even look at a pool from October until May. I
think both methods are flawed and I'd like to suggest
another approach, reinvent your stroke!!!
I know drills are boring and no one really likes doing
them, however, swimming a million yards with poor
technique will do nothing but reinforce poor technique,
while not swimming at all will result in not fulfilling
your racing potential. The swim is an important part of
a triathlon where energy can be conserved or
needlessly wasted. Exiting the water with the leaders
can allow an athlete to use their bike as a very
powerful weapon, as opposed to playing catch up and
suffering later on the run.
