Greetings,
Whoa, another great season comes to an end. Ben
Greenfield has a deal that you must see. Look at what
Captain Ed, US Army Ranger considers a workout. It
will put you to shame, I'll bet. These guys are tough
dudes. My hats off to them for their gallant service.
Want to be faster? Like a human cheetah? Here's
how. Dave Scott on training. Congrats to Kevin Moats
of Team BodyHealth who after winning the World
Championship in Kona, came back a month later and
won his age group at IM Florida. Well done Kevin! And
lastly, I raced IM AZ this past weekend and had my
best placement ever in an IM. Age group 7th , 12:48. It
was my 36th IM. It was great. Have a great week and
enjoy Turkey Day.

New research can help you develop a leaner
body
To be fast you must be lean. Cheetahs, the fastest
animals on earth, can reach speeds of 70 M.P.H. But
only because they are very lean.
The same principle applies to humans. It's easy to
observe that the athletes winning the races are very
lean.

Greetings again from Camp Taji, Iraq. Things
here are going well.
Journal:
Greetings again BodyHealth team members. Our
mission here in Iraq continues to go well and Charlie
Company, 1st BN, 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old
Guard) continues to perform extremely well.
This past month saw me and my executive officer
grind through a brutal 4-week long strength cycle that
ended last week. This cycle had us lifting very heavy
(this is how you get strong) 3 or 4 days per week. We
improved on our 1 Rep Maximums (1RM) in all our lifts
to include: bench press, front squat, dead-lift, squat
clean, squat clean + push press, and push press. We
pushed the envelope every single day during this 4
week stretch and made significant gains.

Current research studies are finding that many of
today's diseases and health problems are linked to
an over-burden of environmental toxins in the body.
Our food, water and air contain large amounts of
environmental toxins that easily enter our bodies. They
come in through the following routes:

What's BEN GREENFIELD got that you should know about? |
|
|
|
Ben Greenfield called me last week. Here was here
for the IM 70.3 Championship and called to say hi. He
interviewed me for his PODCAST a few months ago
about optimized health. We have a lot in common. I
am glad he called me because I had a problem I
needed his help with. I have two sons who were pretty
good triathletes when they were kids. Both now are
with families, carriers, and short on time. No twenty
hours a week for them. But they want to do an
Ironman. So I asked Ben, what could be done? He
said he had a program that in 8-12 hours a week and
nine months, you could train for an IM. No fluff. All
quality.I was so excited after I read the program that I
wanted you to see it too. I am buying two sets for my
kids as holiday presents, but please don't tell them.
You might consider it also. Ben is the real thing. He
knows nutrition, training, and is a very good triathlete
himself. Here is what he says . . .
"7 Crucial Principles of Training for Ironman with
Minimum Time Commitment."
