  • MAP Wins!

Just a quick note to rave about MAP. Last summer I was listed in the Winner's Circle for winning my age group at the Interlochen Triathlon. Since that time I have continued to use MAP and had great success in other sports. With my teammate, who is also 61 years old, we were the first official team to finish The Urban Trek Adventure Race in just over six hours. In November, I finished first in my age group and weight class at the Lansing YMCA Bench Press Contest.

Q and A with Dave Scott

    From Terry:
What advice do you have for triathletes in their 40's, food wise, to keep the middle age spread under control? Something to help metabolism speed up? Thanks, Terry

    From Dave Scott:
Terry, If we could just eat the magic bullet and keep the "spread" under control, I'd be in a different business! There are several "things" that you could weave into your daily routine that will help to maintain lean body mass and hold the fat increases at bay. Here's a check list that might give you a few reminders for a leaner you!

    Captain Ed's Journal

Well, March's journal entry pretty much brings us full circle. A little over a year ago I was shot in the right forearm in the Anbar province of Iraq, and was facing two plus months in a cast followed by two months of solid rehab to get back to a baseline fitness level.

The months of May through September saw . . .

    Stored energy in your body!

Wake up the stored energy in your body!

Rather than relying on heavy doses of caffeine or sugar to wake you up, Pozitive Energy contains an arsenal of B Vitamins and other natural ingredients to kick-start your body. B Vitamins are co-factors in the creation of your body's ATP molecules. These ATP molecules actually store your body's energy. When you pump a few sprays of Pozitive Energy into your mouth, Pozitive Energy boosts your cell energy and improves your nerve transmission.

    Spring Training in Kona

As TS Eliot said, April (and March) is the cruelest month. He was actually referring to suicide rates, but to the true triathlete, early spring is particularly cruel. We are all ready to get back at it. No more leg warmers, booties, face masks and mittens. We are ready for SPRING. Unfortunately, the Northeast, Midwest, and even Florida can get hit by one more cold front or snow storm. So for the past three years, I have headed to Kona for two weeks of "Spring Training" in March.

For my money, Kona is the best place in the US to train in early spring. It's consistently warm- Air temp in the morning is 73*, warms to 85* for a high. It is the only place in the US, save for the Virgin Islands that you can...
