To have Racing Success . . .
by IM World Champion Cherie Gruenfeld
I just won my age group in Ironman Arizona , breaking my own course record on what was considered a very tough day.
I believe what made this possible includes several things: Good genes, smart training, strong support from my husband and having eight of my Exceeding Expectations kids there cheering for me. But this list wouldn't be complete without including my use of MAP.
I've been using the product religiously for a number of years and feel that the benefit I gain puts me in position to use my good genes for smart training.
There's no denying the fact that my training and racing have changed with the passing years. I'm having to come to grips with the frustrating reality that I can no longer post the times I once did. My goals now run more along the lines of staying close to past times rather that posting faster results. At my age, one has to improve each year to accomplish these goals.
To have racing success, it's important to have consistent training, uninterrupted by injury and illness. This consistency usually comes as a result of good recovery between workouts. Maintaining a balanced and focused training plan becomes very difficult if you're struggling with a tired body screaming for more rest. MAP, as part of my training regime, has kept me strong, uninjured and able to do back-to-back tough workouts when peaking for a goal race.
I am counting on MAP to keep me in the game – for a long time to come.
