Study Done using Master Amino Acid Pattern (MAP) as the Sole and Total
Substitute of Dietary Proteins in an Athlete during a Desert
Crossing
Due to the remarkable efficacy of MAPTM as a protein source, a study was done to document the body fat changes, physiologic changes, and metabolic parameters in an athlete, before and after crossing the Taklimakan Desert in China, while taking MAP as the sole and total substitute for dietary protein.
The subject was a healthy, 51-year-old white female who walked across the Taklimakan Desert a distance of 344 miles in 24 days. During the crossing, weather conditions were extremely variable, with temperatures ranging from –5 degrees centigrade at night to 30 degrees centigrade during the day. The desert terrain presented continuous slopes due to the shifting dunes. The subject carried a knapsack weighing approximately 48 pounds.
Her diet consisted of 24 tablets of MAPTM per day as the sole protein source along with US Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) dosages of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements, with carbohydrates, and essential fatty acids totaling an equivalent of 3000 calories per day.
MAPTM is a mixture of the 8 essential amino acids in a very unique blend. Due to the proportions of these amino acids abd MAP's formulation, it provides a protein source unparalleled by any food or dietary protein supplement. The product is unique compared to any other protein source in that it is completely utilized by the body for protein and there are fewer than 10 calories used as fuel.
The results comparing the pre and post testing were quite remarkable. One would expect that with such an effort and taking only 24 grams of amino acids per day that there would be a great deal of muscle wasting, and reduction of athletic and other functions. In fact, just the opposite occurred.
Tests showed:
- Increased body muscle mass, strength, and endurance as measured by objective testing. Lean tissue mass increased by 2.75 pounds!
- Body fat decreased mass by 20.5% (by pinch test).
- Cardio-respiratory performance improved. Before starting, at 8km/hr on the treadmill her H.R. was 149 beats per minute, which improved to 128 beats/ min at the end of the trek. Her oxygen consumption went down 15.3% at the same rate of speed.
- Red blood cells and hemoglobin improved.
- There were no adverse effects.
This case study is highly interesting and in line with the clinical results we are seeing in athletes taking MAP. MAPTM is a remarkable source of protein and even under extreme athletic conditions, by using this product, the body is able to build lean muscle, prevent breakdown, and improve cardiovascular fitness.
