  • Inadequate Protein Intake Damages Your Body

Daily protein/amino acid intake is required to maintain or normalize cellular turnover and optimize the body's protein synthesis. Without sufficient protein, the body either lets cells die or breaks down other muscles and tissues to get the protein it needs for repair and other functions.

The body may actually "eat itself" or cannibalize to acquire the necessary amino acids, or borrow the amino acids from the immune system or body functions to meet its protein needs. If you workout and don't have enough protein to rebuild your body, instead of getting stronger, you will become weaker and be subject to injury.

MAP supplies all the essential amino acids in a unique proportion to create and maximize your body's protein production (synthesis.)

Are three sets better than one?

When doing strength training are three sets better than one? Should you do the lifts fast or slow?

From: Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise. 37(9):1622- 1626, September 2005. This study was done with untrained subjects and compared doing one set versus three sets of a weight that they could lift 6-8 reps per set. It also looked at doing the movements slow versus fast. Which was better? They lifted three times a week for six weeks.

    1. All became stronger.
    2. Three sets produced twice the strength increases than one set
    3. Faster was better than slower if you did one set. If you did three sets it is not as good
    4. Their conclusion: Do three sets slow per workout for max strength gains

Taking MAP before strength workouts will make this even better!

Winner at Mooseman, Fairlee, and Lake Placid

Last year was my first season of using Biobuild and it helped me to recover faster from training and racing compared to past years. I successfully competed in 3 Ironmans in 2005. Biobuild helped me to quickly recover from each Ironman and, for the first time ever, ended the season feeling strong.

I won my age group (w25-29) in 3 races throughout the year! I'm looking forward to another season of racing with Biobuild.

    Sincerely, Angle DeFilippi

Kim Loeffler - 1st US finisher and 8th overall at the Ironman World Championships

My goal going into Lake Placid was to improve upon last years 4th place finish. I realized that to do this, I had to train harder and most importantly recover faster. I took 10 tablets of MAP before and after every workout. As a result, I arrived in Lake Placid feeling stronger than ever and recorded the best Ironman finish of my career, second place.

MAP has made a tremendous difference in the amount of volume and intensity my body can handle. I highly recommend MAP to any athlete seeking peak performance.

    Large amounts of pollutants

Our food, water and air contain large amounts of pollutants that easily enter our bodies. Chemicals in detergents, shampoos, deodorants, cosmetics and lotions enter through the skin. Small particles of air born pollutants enter our lungs. Food with chemicals, artificial sweeteners, pesticides, and heavy metals easily passes our intestines to invade us.

To make sure that the toxins come out and do not get hung up in the body use Body Detox.

Body Detox locks onto toxins in your body — toxins embedded in your blood, your cell membranes, and even those affecting the delicate inner cell structures — and pulls these toxins safely out through your bowels.

Body Detox also rejuvenates your intestinal tract, where these flushed toxins exit, and protects you from the damaging effects of toxin-generated free radicals.

An injury is one of the toughest challenges for any athlete. Being away from the sport you love, is often a greater challenge than dealing with the injury itself. Two weeks ago I crashed heavily in a Belgian cycling Classics, the Tour of Flanders. The race is famous for its cobbled climbs, foul weather and is considered one of the toughest on the calendar and was one of the major goals in the team’s spring campaign.

Up until the second hour of the race, my season was going perfectly. I had been able to train well, gaining strength with each competition and training session. I felt good and our team was the best it had ever been going into the week of ‘Classics’ in northern Europe.

And then, I woke up in the hospital, not knowing how I fell, or how bad the damage was. It was fairly bad, as I had broken 3 vertebrae and had some severe facial cuts—I was also unconscious for forty minutes or so. Thankfully, it is all healing well and 2 weeks after the fact, I am back on the home trainer, riding my bike for an hour each day. It feels good to pedal again, and I am motivated with the new challenges and new objectives.

Prior to the crash we had done many tough one day races and several stage races. I was recovering better than ever and hadn’t been losing any muscle mass—thanks to MAP.

MAP will now be a big part in my rehabilitation and my new goals for the rest of the season.
