  • Do you need your minimum daily requirement of protein each day?

Through the wear and tear of daily living, the body's thousands of proteins are continually being broken down. If they are not repaired every day then the body does not maintain its health and strength.

The amino acids from dietary protein are needed for this process. It is very important that the food we eat or supplemental amino acids that we take contain all of the essential amino acids that are needed to accomplish this.

I use your guys products all the time and love it!!!

During the past year I have set PR's in Half Ironman, Olympic Distance, 1/2 Marathon and won my age group in sprint distance.

I really don't believe this would have been possible for me at my age without MAP. It has allowed me to stack harder workouts closer together without the usual soreness or fatigue. I can take myself right to edge in longer distances and be really recovered the next day.

Thanks for creating such a great product.

Sleep problems and branched chain amino acids

Could your problems with sleep be related to taking whey protein powder or supplements containing branched chain amino acids?

The use of these substances is very common and many use them without knowing that they could be decreasing the amount of tryptophan (an essential amino acid) in the body. Tryptophan is needed to make a natural sleep inducing hormone called melatonin.

    MAP and weight loss

My wife has been taking MAP to help her lose weight. She has been substituting 6 MAP for her protein for two meals a day and lost 5 pounds the first week.

When I noticed this in her I asked her what she was taking. She told me about it and I went to the web site and read all about it. I thought maybe it would help me too to improve my workouts. I am not a triathlete but do do about an hour and a half a day of calisthenics and running. So a few days ago I took 10 tablets and walked the two miles to the gym. I did my workout- and was able to breeze through it and complete all of it as if I were superman. I couldn’t believe it had such a fast effect. Since then the trend has continued and I have increased in all areas and feel terrific. I never imagined a supplement could be so effective so fast. Thanks. D.J.

Are you neglecting the other brick workout?

Brick workouts are a main stay of triathlon training. However, most people emphasize the bike to run as the one to concentrate on.

Before my last Ironman, I decided that I would keep my heart rate in the high 130’s for the first couple hours of the bike ride. Due to various factors my training had been less that I had wanted and I decided to use the race as a long training day. I swam moderately, and was never out of breath and didn’t feel particularly stressed at the end. In fact, I was not tired and felt great. But on getting on the bike, my heart rate was already 150, even for the first few miles of going very easy.
