Get Rid of This Past Seasons Toxic Buildup to
Start the New Year Out Right
The challenge of all sports and training is to improve
current performance and reach new goals in
whatever sport one is playing.
Two very important factors underlie all training and
will determine if you will reach your goals or not.
1. Nutrition is the most important factor. Adequate
nutrients must be available to build your tissues and
organs as well as provide fuel for energy.
2. Toxic influences in the environment must also be
constantly removed so heavy metals and chemicals
do not contaminate your body's tissues. These
factors actually block enzymes needed for the body
to make energy and protein.
When your body is under toxic stress, it will not
perform or recover properly. Fatigue, lack of energy,
inability to recover, or injury can result.

I've used Master Amino Acid Pattern on and off for 2+ years. I've
tried other advertised supplements after reading their
claims in magazines and so forth. After several
frustrating races early this year, I dove back into my
Master Amino Acid Pattern and I'm back to training and racing the way
I want: 2 overall wins in my past 2 races,
including a
course record.
Next stop, the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in
Clearwater, FL on November 11th.
What do I tell my fellow triathletes? Stick with what
works best and stop wasting your time shopping for
the magic bullet. The best supplement for
your
training dollar is Master Amino Acid Pattern!

| High Intensity Fitness |
 |
Some facts that show a little bit of high
intensity training goes a long way!
A research study at the State University of New York
at Syracuse showed that:
1. In eight weeks of training at only 10
minutes per day of 100% VO2 max (the maximum
amount of oxygen in milliliters, one can use) led to
300% increase in the level of a specific energy
generating enzyme (cytochrome c) within the muscle
cells.
2. In the same study those exercising 27
minutes per day at 85% VO2 max only increased the
cytochrome c levels by 80%.
3. At 90 minutes per day exercise at 70% VO2
max increased cyctochrome c by 74%.
Take home message: 10 minutes at high intensity
improves fitness three times better than 90 minutes
at aerobic effort. When combined with Master Amino Acid Pattern you
will get maximum enzyme adaptation for your efforts
at no matter what intensity you work out at.

| Why Phytochemicals are Healthy for Your Body |
 |
Phytochemicals are plant based substances that
are protective and disease preventing. Scientists
have discovered over 900 different varieties in
common fruits and vegetables. An average serving of
vegetables contains over 100 of them. Carotenoids,
indoles, lycopenes, silymarin, limonene, phenols,
flavonoids, saponins, and catechins are examples of
various phytochemicals.

QUALITY OR QUANTITY |

by Luis Alvarez Masters Ironman
I started my sport career 22 years ago doing races,
but I was always a middle or back packer, what you
could call a recreational, average, slow athlete.
When I started doing marathons I used to make 4 to
4˝ hours. No matter how much I trained or the
effort I made, I could never improve my PR. Since I
was not a fast racer, I tried to get quantity instead
of quality. In 1984 the sport club I belonged
called “Roadrunners” in Monterrey offered a trophy
for the record of doing the higher quantity of
marathons in a year, I made 13.
I achieved my goal and got my trophy, but I also got
injured and during a whole year I couldn’t compete in
any race, I had tendonitis and bursitis among
others. After that, I started doing more Ironman
competitions, but due to the excessive work out, I
got condromalasia, which was more severe. I also
had two knee surgeries and I could not run for three
years thou I still participated in Ironman competitions
but walking the marathon instead of running it.
