Winner at Whirlpool Ironman 90.3 Steelhead (First male 55-59)
Regular use of MAP has enabled me to recover quickly (and perform at a top level) in a very full 2009 race schedule that has included three Ironman-distance races, three 70.3 half-Ironman distance races, three Olympic-distance races, and two sprint triathlons. After first learning of MAP at the 2008 Clearwater 70.3 World Championship, I participated in a phone-in pod cast with Dr. Minkoff. In response to my question, he graciously sent me an extensive bibliography of research articles detailing the evidence base for the MAP amino acid profile. Reading these peer-reviewed articles was just the evidence I needed to get on board and begin using MAP as part of my regular nutrition and recovery program. A year later, my only regret is not learning about MAP sooner!

As the athlete ages, the years of training has provided a solid mental and physical base to draw from. However, "quality" becomes so important regarding training sessions, recovery, and nutrition. I've been taking MAP every day, and every race since 2003. Now being in my 40s, I am a consistently faster, stronger, and durable athlete than I was in my 20s and 30s. My old injuries flare up less, and I don't experience new injuries. My immune system is stronger, I sleep better, thus I am able to train more intensely every day than I did prior to MAP. I also compete year-round, and have more consistent podium finishes. MAP is not a supplement for me, rather, it's an integral part of a healthy, balanced diet.
